ELEVATE 2.0!
by Evergreen City Ballet on October 23, 2020Hello Community Partners!
My name is Nathan Cook and I am the Interim School Principal at Evergreen City Ballet. I am reaching out to introduce myself and to tell you all that we are very excited to open our virtual performance season this weekend with ELEVATE 2.0.V!
ELEVATE is our annual student choreography showcase where members of our Performance Division get the chance to create a brand-new dance work on their peers. They also have the opportunity to work directly with a Core Faculty mentor, providing them invaluable insights on the creative process, collaboration, dance production, and what it means to be a dancemaker. Filming for this production took place in our black box theater last weekend under strict COVID-19 safety protocols and now it's almost time for the big premiere. The first performance will be presented this Saturday, October 24th at 7:00pm followed by a second showing on Sunday, October 25th at 2:00pm.
We would love to have your support in helping us spread the word to show our community the incredible works our young artists in training have put together! Attached are some marketing materials you are welcome to use on your various platforms and tickets can be purchased through this link - https://bit.ly/33Yt0R8
This link will take you to one of our promo videos for the show - https://youtu.be/5Oiaaq2vakY
Also happening this weekend - CHICKA CHICKA! hosted by Aleksa Manila and our very own Artistic Director, Bennyroyce Royon in celebration of Filipinx American History Month. CHICKA CHICKA! is free to stream on ECB's Facebook this Sunday at 3:00pm ET/12:00pm PT and will feature special guests from the Fil-Am community on both the west coast and east coast. Marketing materials are attached for this and we would greatly appreciate your help in spreading the word about this special event too.
Lastly, we will soon be releasing details on our digital presentation of Wade Walthall's The Nutcracker! This year's reimagined performances will explore the origins and history of the family-friendly ballet while also highlighting our unique legacy with it. The performances will include a mixture of archival footage, special interviews, and pre-recorded performances by our students in our black box theater. We can't tell you everything yet, but we have some exciting things planned!
If you see any potential for collaboration or cross-promotion with these events we would love to hear from and partner with you. These COVID times are strange times, but the show must go on! Thank you in advance for your support.
Best,
Nathan Cook
