Renton's Chamber of Commerce is creating a commUNITY cookbook. We are asking businesses, professional athletes, first responders, community leaders, government officials, nonprofits and members of our community to contribute recipes to be included in this effort toward commUNITY. Sharing a piece of themselves for us all.
During such uncertain times a lot of us are being called back to the basics. We remember our mothers and grandmothers selling fundraiser cookbooks and STILL have those books being used in our kitchens today. With all this downtime we have had, it made us think, we need to gather up all the ingredients from our community that make it what it is, and offer our citizens a little comfort through their stomachs.
We hope to have a variety of recipes donated so we can highlight how diverse and creative this community truly is. From appetizers, soups, salads, vegetarian, gluten free, smoothies, main courses, guilty pleasures, paleo, desserts, cocktails, snacks...the list is endless! Include your family's secret (if you dare), your go-to lazy day meal, a recipe from your businesse's menu, or even a recipe using the very thing you sell as an ingredient. Teach us the basics of how to build the perfect party tray, tell us the story of how your auntie has made this sweet treat for your family for years, or use that beer you brew as part of the batter for deep fried goodies.
Food connects us all and brings people together. This is a great opportunity to show the community you care by sharing a piece of you and your business with them. By contributing a recipe to the cookbook you are automatically advertising for your business/cause. You are stepping into the homes and lives of the people in this community. Every recipe that is included from your business/organization will have a photo of the recipe and include your business/organization name & logo should you have one.
